Transcend Ranks No.1 in Flash Memory Market
According to the latest report by IDC Research, India, Transcend Information, Inc. (Transcend), a leading manufacturer of flash memory products, Transcend ranked No.1 in flash memory products including USB flash drives and flash cards in 2007, followed by Kingston and Sandisk. Additionally, Indian flash drive market in particular was dominated by Transcend last year, and in fact contributed 4 percent of Transcend's global revenue in 2007.
Moreover, IDC research also pointed out that Transcend's MP3 players and portable hard drives achieved impressive growth in the Indian market, which is not just a result of the adoption of an increasing digital lifestyle in India, but also due to the overall increase in flash memory capacity from traditional 1GB to 8GB and more, facilitating Transcend's remarkable market growth performance.
